Andres Vargas, MD

About Andres

Dr. Andres Vargas is a peripheral vascular fellow at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Houma.

Dr. Vargas earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Guayaquil in Ecuador. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he was named chief resident. He also completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, being named chief cardiology fellow.

Dr. Vargas is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, cardiovascular medicine, and interventional cardiology. He is also a registered physician in vascular interpretation. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
