Please be advised that Terrebonne General is monitoring Hurricane IDA closely and taking all appropriate precautions to assure the safety of everyone. At this time, the Office of Emergency Preparedness has advised us that Hurricane IDA is projected to continue to strengthen over today and tomorrow with possibility of a Category 3 to 4 at landfall on Sunday. As the projected path is anticipated to be at or near Terrebonne Parish and it is forecasted to be a considerable rain event and wind event for our area with moderate winds gusts possibly up to 115 to 120 mph with anticipated wind damage, downed trees and power lines along with potential flooding in various regions. We have been advised to prepare for the possibility of loss of electricity within the community from anywhere from 1 day to a week or more. Please continue to monitor the storm closely for any additional changes.

We are taking all necessary precautions at this time and have determined all non-emergency surgeries and non-essential services and clinics will be closed on Monday and we will continue to evaluate all of our services to prepare our organization according to our hurricane plan. We want to assure the safety of all of our patients, staff, and physicians, so please contact your Director for any schedule changes or limitations on our hospital services.

As we understand your dedication and recognize your time is limited, we have provided a load of sand and bags located near the Parking Garage on Belanger Street exclusively for all of our employees and physicians if sandbags are needed for your personal use.

Please be safe and thank you for all of your support during this event.
