About This Location

Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has been delivering quality cancer care close to home to patients in the Bayou Region since 2008. We provide comprehensive cancer services to meet each patient’s individual needs. Through advanced technology, programs and services, and with decades of experience in treating cancer, we work in collaboration with every patient to help them beat their disease.

Nurse with patientThe Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has grown and evolved to meet the needs of the community, but its mission has remained the same: to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer. This mission is especially important in Louisiana – a state that suffers from high cancer mortality rates due to lack of access to care, delayed diagnosis, and other factors.

As a comprehensive cancer facility, our Cancer Center provides the full spectrum of cancer care – from prevention and early detection to diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and survivorship. The Center’s services include screening, mammography, education, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. Patients can participate in the U-Thrive program to build strength and muscle mass while receiving treatment. Patient navigators – nurses who guide patients through the treatment process – are available as well.

Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is the only cancer center in the region to offer clinical trials to our patients. Clinical trials enhance standard cancer treatments, resulting in improved patient outcomes and survival rates. Every patient at our Cancer Center is evaluated for participation in a clinical trial. Those who meet the criteria to participate in clinical research receive a standard of care treatment, but with the added benefit of a trial that may enhance their outcomes.

The Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center offers world-class diagnostic and treatment technology, including the Elekta Infinity linear accelerator. This leading-edge technology enables faster, more accurate treatments.

Patient in treatment with doctor and nurseOur Cancer Center offers free cancer screenings, community education, and support opportunities for cancer patients throughout the year. Residents of the Bayou Region can also get free cancer screenings through the Prevention on the Go, a mobile medical clinic that helps bring early detection to the uninsured at convenient times and locations.

At Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, you can look to the strength from within to fight cancer.
