According to the National Council of Aging, millions of older adults struggle every day with health challenges, such as mental health issues or chronic disease. Unfortunately, these conditions can negatively impact their quality of life. However, good health helps ensure independence, security, productivity, and overall happiness, which is why the Terrebonne General Health System's Healthy Lifestyles Center created the Well and Wise program.

Well and Wise, presented by The Foundation for Terrebonne General Health System and Terrebonne Council on Aging, is an educational and inspirational six-month wellness program designed for anyone 60 years or older offered at no cost. Attendees will receive the tools and resources they need to stay healthy and active, which can add years to their life.

The program meets on the last Wednesday of every month from 9 – 10:30 am in the Terrebonne General Medical Atrium Auditorium and covers various topics designed to entertain, educate, and empower. Topics include nutrition, prevention, and educational talks led by Terrebonne General experts covering heart disease, bone health, prescription education, healthy lifestyle tips, and more. In addition, each class features complimentary breakfast, games and prizes, a weight loss challenge, senior fitness discounts, and a graduation ceremony at the end of the course.

Topics Include:

  • Nutrition Education
  • Complimentary breakfast and snacks
  • Educational talks led by Terrebonne General experts covering topics, such as heart disease and fall prevention
  • Games and prizes
