The Foundation for Terrebonne General Future Physician Scholarship was created to support aspiring physicians who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to improving healthcare in our communities. Sponsored by the Foundation for Terrebonne General Health System, this scholarship reflects a continued investment in the future of healthcare across South Louisiana.

As healthcare needs continue to grow, the Foundation recognizes the importance of encouraging and supporting students pursuing careers in medicine. This scholarship aims to reduce financial barriers while empowering future physicians to make a lasting impact through patient care, innovation, and community service.

Scholarship Purpose

The Future Physician Scholarship is designed to:

• Support students pursuing a career in medicine
• Encourage future healthcare leaders from South Louisiana and surrounding communities to return home
• Invest in the long-term health and well-being of our region

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Currently accepted in medical graduate program.
• A college senior with aspirations of pursuing a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (must show proof of enrollment for the following year).
• A previous or current resident of Terrebonne Parish for at least two years prior to attending post-secondary education.
• Demonstrate academic excellence and maintain good academic standing
• Submit all required application materials before the deadline
