David C. Pellegrin, MD

About Dr. Pellegrin

Once Dr. Pellegrin realized his desire to become a physician, his goal was to bring quality medical care to his home town. He is proud to have served his community as a Gastroenterologist at Terrebonne General Health System since October 1992. He has sought to perfect services appropriate to the size of our hospital and he has formed alliances with tertiary medical centers to provide special services not appropriate for a community hospital.

The only thing more dear to Dr. Pellegrin than his patients and his practice is his family. His wife, Belinda, is a wonderful mother and provides invaluable advice to his practice with her CPA experience. He is proud to have provided the best education possible for his older children, Kristen and David Jr. They are well on their way to successful careers. His younger daughter, Nicole, is a model student and an accomplished dancer. Dr. Pellegrin values any moment he can watch her dance. His mother, Althea, is a pillar of the community and he is proud to call her mom. He also considers his office staff and the endoscopy staff at the hospital as part of his extended family and is proud to work with them.

Dr. Pellegrin’s favorite hobby is tennis. Work and family obligations do not allow time for tennis now, but he looks forward to playing again in the future. Cooking and yard work occupy his spare time and he takes great pride in the quality of his food and the appearance of his yard.

Dr. Pellegrin is honored to have known many of the physicians who have laid the foundation for quality medical care in our community. As a student, he was fortunate enough to assist in surgery with Dr. Philip Cenac, and examine patients with Dr. Sidney Warren. He continues to learn from his experience with his fellow physicians.

Dr. Pellegrin feels strongly that Terrebonne General should be the focal point in providing medical care to all citizens of the tri-parish region. This should include the youngest and the oldest, the less privileged and the most advantaged. For that reason, he has provided all of his medical care in conjunction with Terrebonne General. His only expectation from the hospital is to provide his patients with the best medical care possible.

Dr. Pellegrin’s mentors are the many local physicians who have come before him and he is proud to follow in their footsteps.
