women’s healthcare services from compassionate, board-certified obstetrician/gynecologists (OB/GYNs).
Many of our OB/GYNs have served multiple generations of women from the
same family. Our OB/GYNs offer women’s health services throughout
all life stages and guide patients through common conditions that affect
the female body.
Obstetricians in Houma, LA
Obstetricians care for women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the
postpartum period. Our OBs have been delivering babies in Terrebonne Parish
for over 65 years. Our experienced labor and delivery team will be there
for you during one of the most important events of your life: pregnancy
and the birth of your baby. Our staff strives to give the best OB prenatal
services and providing a memorable experience for expectant mothers and
their families. To that end, we are fully equipped to meet your prenatal,
labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care needs.
Patients are invited to our Women’s Health Center to their own large,
comfortable rooms. The health of both mother and baby will be continuously
monitored through the use of advanced fetal monitors and computer systems.
Newborns remain in postpartum rooms with their mothers at all times, as
research shows keeping mothers and babies together during a hospital stay
results in better breastfeeding success and improves the infant’s
transition to life outside the womb. Lactations consultants are available
to see mothers during their hospital stay. Our experienced maternal-child
nurses take care of your newborn upon delivery. Babies who present with
complications and those who are born prematurely will be cared for in
our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which is equipped with
a live video streaming camera system so parents can see their new babies
24/7 through a password-protected system.
Gynecologists
Gynecologists specialize in the female reproductive system and have a strong
focus on preventative healthcare throughout all life stages. The female
reproductive system is biologically unique compared to men’s, and
throughout a woman’s life, she will experience different life events,
from first menstruation through menopause. Gynecologists provide annual
wellness and breast exams and evaluate and manage numerous reproductive
and sexual health conditions. Our gynecologists are discreet professionals
who provide contraceptive (birth control) counseling and test and treat
sexually transmitted infections (STIs/STDs). We strive to treat patients
as whole women rather than only treating the health condition they have.
